CREATIVE WEDDING TRANSPORTATION

When you are getting married and have a larger celebration you will have think about the logistics. Both you and your guests will have to get to the venue and you will have need to make sure the place is accessible in one way or another.

WHY YOU SHOULD HIRE TRANSPORTATION FOR WEDDING GUESTS?

Because you will be sure they get where you want them to get, and they will hopefully be there on time if you hire joint transportation like a bus or shuttle of some kind. Unless someone really has to get from the venue at a specific time due to any reason, you also make sure they relax because transport is taken care of and they don’t have to worry about driving or finding the right routes. They can simply just sit back and enjoy all the fun parts of the wedding.

WHAT ARE THE KEY POINTS TO REMEMBER WHEN HIRING WEDDING TRANSPORTATION?

You should be clear of what you need. Ask yourself who is in need of transportation, when and where is it required and how much can it cost. Then start looking up transportation and when talking to companies it is important to ask to understand what they include in the price.
Are they offering something extra for you, like a red carpet, a bottle of Champagne with glasses or umbrellas when it is raining?
Is a driver included in the price?
Do they charge for extra stops and how much is the fee for additional time?
What kind of chauffeur do they provide, and does this person have a uniform? If not, can it be provided to fit the theme?
Are they knowledgeable of the area and route and aware of the current traffic situation? What happens if the vehicle, carriage or boat breaks down?
Do they have a backup option?
What does their insurance cover and what are you responsible for?
How are they promising to keep the time schedule?

HOW DO YOU FIND OUT ABOUT STREET CLOSURES AND TRAFFIC DELAYS?

The best answer to this is Google. See what the current traffic situation is like and find out if there are any live roadworks, protests or barriers on the road you are taking. Always test drive the route at least once, this applies to both the city and the countryside, to estimate the time. Preferably drive it the same weekday and time as the event is supposed to be. Call the council responsible for the city roads where you are to ask if anything specific is happening on the day. Remember to apply for necessary permits if you are planning to use, for example, a horse carriage.

CREATIVE MODES OF TRANSPORTATION THAT CAN BE USED FOR A WEDDING

The possibilities are nearly endless when it comes to means of transportation to and from weddings. Depending on the basic four key factors; venue, location, season and budget choices can be made. Vehicles on land can include limousines, vintage cars, new modern cars, Tuk-Tuk, Vespa, motorcycle. A big plus is that they are allowed on normal roads and highways. Minus might be that they are affected by the normal traffic. A driver is nice to have so the couple doesn’t have to drive themselves.

Public transport is becoming quite popular. It is cheap and fits many people, some couples even theme their weddings with the New York City Subway or the London Underground. Most types of buses are possible to hire for private events.

Transportation by water is idyllic and romantic even though it can get wet and cold, and it is very weather dependent. This includes everything from large ships and yachts that can accommodate all guests to small canoes and private gondolas.

Getting to or from the wedding with support of animals can be a fun addition and good entertainment. More popular in other areas of the world are elephant rides, or being carried by camels, donkeys or llamas.

Air transport requires a lot of paperwork but has a big impact on the day. A helicopter or hot air balloon ride is a great experience.
